A- Foundation & Evolution :

Before 1948:

The school had few students divided into boys and girls. Each had his own teacher.

1948:

the school became official and was run by the principal Albert Doumit.

1960:

the number of students grew as parents of the villages nearby (Dick el Mehdi, Beit el Chaar, Zakrit, Kornet el Hamra,  Fraykeh…) chose to send their children to the school of MY. The school gave for the first time that year an official certificate.

1969-1970:

The Official School of Zakrit was joint to the Official School of MY. The principal was Michel Younis and the first inspector became Youssef Yammine. It gave since then the Primary Leaving Certificate.

B- Successive Principals :

Before 1948, the teachers of the school were at the same time its principals; they took in charge the education of the students and the administration of the school. In 1948, the school had a principal and some teachers.

1932-1936: Kezhaya Zaarour and his daughter Adma Za arour.

1936-1938: the priest Youhanna Salloum.

1938-1948: Jean Doumit and his daughter Salimeh Doumit

         Angel el Mallah.

1948: Albert Doumit.

1954-1990: Michel Younis.

1990-1992: Yousef Habib Yammine.

1992-1993: Emile el Ghoul.

1993-1994: Abdo Yachou’i.

1994 up till now: Elie el Mallah.

C- Teachers & Students :

There are 67 persons teaching or working in the administration and 222 students in the school.

The General Director highly commended the administration on the success of the students in their official exams.

D- Future Plans : 

The building of the school is old with small rooms and the square of the Church forms the playground of the school. It is rented by the Municipality of MY and the Parents Association of the Association of Religious Endowment and of Na’im Ghsoub, Mejid el ‘achi and Jean el Khoury and his brothers. That is why, the Municipality of MY bought a land to build a new and modern school for both the Intermediate and the High-School of Mazraat Yachouh.
